A chairde! Friends!
We are now midway through spring and it has been the sunniest week so far this year. Hopefully it lasts! With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, green, shamrocks, ceilís, and all sorts of events are popping up all over the country and indeed the world.
Anyway, amidst Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Week) and on the Eve of St. Patrick’s Day, have a listen to our rendition of Bagairt na Marbh, in Irish, ár dteanga dhúchais.
To mark Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Week) on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day, New Dublin Voices would like to present Bagairt na Marbh by renowned Irish composer, Michael Holohan. This piece is largely as gaeilge with a sprinkling of latin near the end. Éist agus bain sult as! The ominous translation for the title is “The Threat of the Dead”. This piece was recorded during the choirs’ 10th anniversary concert in 2015.
Our Spring Series fast approaching, there are a total of FIVE opportunities to come and hear us! We have been exploring some fantastic music which we can’t wait to share
