We have had a busy month!
Earlier in March, we had the enormous honour of representing Ireland in the European Grand Prix for Choral music, the first time an Irish choir has done this. While we didn’t win, we had an absolute blast taking part, listening to some phenomenal choirs and enjoying the surrounds of Debrecen, Hungary!
Saturday past, the 5th April, we were privileged enough to be asked to perform a number of commissions from the Irish Composers Collective at the concert ‘Conversations 1’. We premiered 7 brand new pieces to a very enthusiastic audience in the beautiful surrounds of University Street church on St. Stephen’s Green. This was the first of 2 concerts, so keep an eye out for the second.
Having finished that wonderful project for now, our sights are firmly set on the London A Capella choral competition, which we head to on the 24th April. Excited doesn’t cover it! This competition will be in the gorgeous acoustic of St. John’s in the field, in Westminster, and will be commemorating the late great John Tavener.
